Denver’s Natural Stone Sales Discusses Natural Stone Flooring For Your Kitchen Redesign, Marble Flooring Part 1

When you begin to think about redesigning to create your dream kitchen, there are many, many factors to consider. You must think about the layout, the lighting, the flooring, the type of appliances, and so much more. Thankfully Denver’s Natural Stone Sales can help you with a lot of these considerations.

In the past handful blogs, we have been focusing on all the different types of flooring for your dream kitchen. We discussed some basic considerations to think about when choosing your kitchen flooring. Of course, you want your flooring to be long lasting and durable because you want to have it for a long time. You also want it to reflect your style and overall aesthetic because it can be such a large space.

In our last blog, we moved onto discussing more of the cons of using slate flooring in your kitchen. Slate it beautiful and is especially nice if you are going for a country themed kitchen. Some of the pros we discussed in last week’s blog included that it is fire resistant. Slate is also low maintenance, is a forgiving material, and looks great in your kitchen.

However, slate is not the easiest to install and does usually require professionals. It is also very heavy and may mean that if you want it in your kitchen, you must reinforce the flooring to hold it. Some maintenance is also required, especially sealants.

Denver’s Natural Stone Sales will continue its discussion of your dream kitchen redesign. In this blog we will begin exploring the next type of natural stone flooring, marble. We are probably all familiar with marble. I know it most from ancient architecture in Greece. I loved exploring all the old ruins of forums and libraries and grand halls.

Marble, for this reason is associated with such adjectives as lavish, grand, expensive, rich, and sleek. For this reason using it now in your kitchen will inspire the same type of adjectives when describing it. So if you are looking for an elegant and sophisticated look in your kitchen, marble is your floor.

Where does it come from?
Marble is an all natural stone. It is harvested from the belly of mountains. It usually comes in giant whole slabs. These are then sliced down and refined to make the different tiles, mosaic sheets, and slabs you find in flooring and walls or backsplashes.

Pros

Unique patterns and colors
Marble can come in all sorts of colors and patterns. This means that your new kitchen flooring is guaranteed to be one of a kind. Generally, if the marble is quarried from the same slab, you can be sure you will have some uniformity of color and pattern within your kitchen tiling.

We are just beginning out exploration of using marble for your new kitchen flooring. We know that this material is famous for sculptures and fine architecture of times gone by. But it is also a great option for your new kitchen redesign. For all your flooring needs check out Denver’s Natural Stone Sales.
